Timeline Updates
July 2021: Our playground is fully installed and ready for our first visitors!
April 2021: THE FIRST ORDER FOR PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN PLACED! We expect to break ground in June. January 2021: Bottle Drive - Save all your holiday bottles and cans and drop them by North Stormont Place on Sunday, January 10, 2021 between 10am and 2pm. December 2020: A Touch of Christmas Porch Tour raises $7209.80 for the Avonmore Park Project! August 2020: Avonmore Bottle Drive raises $1400 for the Avonmore Park Project. March 2020: Our fundraising efforts were placed on pause while our community and local businesses grappled with the fallout of COVID-19. Still, cheques from local businesses and community members continued to roll in. Thank you to everyone who contributed during this challenging time. January 2020: The Avonmore Park Fundraising Campaign is launched enlisting the help of local residents and businesses to raise the funds necessary to rebuild the park. The Sip n' Shop event raised $1000 toward the park efforts! Thanks to everyone who attended! November 2019: The ACAA Park Committee presented to the 100 Women Who Care event and successfully raised $10,000 toward the park fundraising efforts. August 2019: After extensive research it was determined that our park equipment could not be repaired to meet the updated provincial safety standards and plans to rebuild the park began. Spring 2019: Avonmore Park was closed down due to changes in provincial safety standards. Avonmore Rec worked with the Township of North Stormont to update the existing equipment. |
